Sugar from the ice age

Climbing their ultimatums, sweaty palms and apathy.
I wanted to tell you I was not afraid.
You eyes dart, escape hunt. Claw at me to make it right.
Pooling in the aftermath.
Prompting stuttering words.
Automatic charades. Stuck like a frozen mammoth in a glacier.
You can call me that, name me after the poet.
Hunting the oxygen in this like a hungry flame.
Sweet delicious cinnamon eyes.
Come alive.
