Enduring patiently

An alpha and omega song.
Sung to us when young.
Seeps into the soul and sets the angels afire.
Speak those words of the prophecy.
Of tar fields and lunacy.
An aching hurt that rips into your bones.
At a distance from love when all the world goes dark.
The flame does flutter and ignite the hope.
Around which, please do not breathe lest the flame goes out.
A flame, which will tear away Satan.
And bring a rush of blood to your head.
Perceive the end in the beginning, for that is where we need to be.
Back at the start, dusting off the hurt and shame.
Washing the ego away in the stream of change.
One with you, at one with the divine.
God in your own design, wearing your clothes.
Making you shine.
The first, and the last.
The beginning and the end.
Angels which now call your name.
Taking back the world.

When worlds collide

Catch me staring, out into space.
Through the letterbox of wonder.
Out of the eyes of god.
And I found you.
Skimming the skies with darkness and sleep.
I watched you fall deep.
Into the oceans, and turned with the tide.
To know you, is to consume just a spark of your fire.
My own deep desire, explodes when we touch.
Mix and repel, our magnetised hearts.
Set to a compass which spins on the calendar.
Forcing us north of the North Pole.
To a tune I cannot hum.
What colours we make, what stars we conquer.
When our two worlds collide.

Bag of bones

What is left to discover, underneath of another?
Slipping their hand inside your dreams.
Blink and they’ll hover, laying oily fingers upon you.
Dripping into your world.
Turn you over like heroin.
Underneath those clothes that hang like a skin.
They’ll slip within, and caress your soul.
At least that’s what you believe.
That’s what you’ve been told.
A smiling, nodding bag of bones.

Time to regenerate

Partners in exposer, distant dreams uncovered.
These delusions, of downfall;
keep a heart and feet on edge.
Come paint this sky, wipe away the grey.
Emerge and break the lightning in mind.
A Bath for my brain as I breathe under water.
Turning the water to red.
Your arm-reach way, stretches across the universe.
Equal to all, statically shuffling sub atomically.
Bits of stars and dust, and molecules of love.
Come break this world and build it up again.
Woken and broken into pieces of god.
Drenched in the tears of the angels,
Splattered with the blood of Satan.
Wring out the colours of clarity.
And hold aloft for the jealousy of the dead.

Consume

A burning white heat from above.
Did nothing to change your direction.
The day you came to tip the world over.
Feasting on the fragments of my life.
The little memories that get caught in your teeth.
Pick and poke through the gristle of my dreams.
What is here for you to digest?
Which part of me comes upon your silver platter?
I watch as the blood drools from your mouth so sweet.
Fresh from a kiss that left me breathless.
I held my tongue.
Which bled into my heart.
Feeling your fingers on my spine which pulled out each vertebrae.
Held aloft to see the spineless state I am in.
Heaped onto the floor in gesture of subservient decay.
So now pop me in formaldehyde, and watch me distantly up on the shelf.
Just glass and meat.
Eat raw parts of my heart that now struggle to beat.
Sweet delicious demise.

Haunted hunter

A mournful tune to play as the bones buckle.
The hum inside your gums while the night lingers on.
What sound called to you, rose you from that grave of regret.
We sit and watch the world tip over, spun into a dizzying dervish and lost in the mind of God.
These darkened eyes that haunt you, casting casualties and consequence.
Do you leave them to turn to stone?
To honey up and glaze like the milky itch of remorse?
How heavy the skin of the idle.
Bleached into the alien grey like driftwood on a beach.
Turn on that apology and settle into an xstatic rhythm.
Shaken from the willows of the wilds. Shaking stars and dust from your mind.
The black swan which follows you, cries out for change.
Etiolated in the darkening world you occupy.
Be still its cries of the dying, the call for collapse.
For this flightless bird of paradise craves warmer climates.
And a world much brighter than our own.

Intertwined

Our souls so pure they all align.
Separated only by thoughts and time.
Which hold a love that extends to all.
Who reign above, or those who fall.
And do not let the world go dark.
But ignite the hope within each spark.
This alchemy that turns hate to kind.
Our lives, our world, all intertwined.

Fly me to the moon

Into the shuttle, with a clink and clank.
Climbed old Richard, the adventurous Yank.
He counted down, from ten to zero.
Puffed out his chest, as America’s new hero.
And he soared into the sky, with his hands in his pockets.
As he shot to the moon on the back of a rocket.
And the earth dripped away under the clouds and his feet.
He smiled at his fortune that was ever so sweet.
Yet alone on this flight, bound for the lunar oasis.
As his body hung on earth in a medical stasis.
In the nursing home called Cherry palm, Richard resided.
At 92, was the best place his children decided;
For him to live out his days in comfort and care.
Little knowing each day was full of lonely despair.
And that is why, though medicated it’s noted.
He navigated the world, and now space where he floated.
And he went where he wanted, on his own in his head.
He had travelled to the moon without leaving his bed.

Liberation

Covered in tar and tears. Watching the new world turn over.
Smothering me in a shadow of time.
All those instances of comprise.
Drilled down to the core of my soul.
So I let it go.
Ultimately the only way is out.
Running naked in the streets
Cast off these ties that bind, if the shackles continue to rub.
Reclaiming this fate for my own, no longer drifting to the abyss.
Standing to fight.
Marching in a time of movement.
Buzzing with the sound of change.

Where do you go?

When this world takes over me.
Smoking stars and twilight.
This impossible process of living.
Breathing each time the same.
Where do you go to?
Down into the ground with the bones.
Up to the sky with the feathers.
Swimming for now in this sea of uncertainty.
Where do I find you when I need that earthy voice?
That stone rooted soul that flicks away the flies of remorse.
Seek and thee shall find, but you are absent in this moment.
Gone away with the fairies as I relapse into tinkerbell tendencies.
I will find you there, I swear.
Caught between the tide and heaven.
Sailing our love to the ends of the world.
You be the captain.
And we’ll be forever saved.
Drifting on the tide around Saturn.

Recapturing

The silent soul who wades this world.
With brittle bones and sad inclinations.
Arrives at a place in memory, strung up with words that bind.
Does he fall deeper into the despair of an age?
Of that turning sun that snatches all that lay in his hands?
Or does shift, and arches his back to the march of time.
A solider in war of change.
Corrupting from within.

Auric swim

And in that moment, where the world dripped off my fingertips.
I dipped my feet into that golden pool.
Circling to find what I’d always known.
You were the koi that darted between my feet.
Winking at me in the fullest moon.
Those transient days of youth, when all the world was but a dream.
Now I see you there still.
Smiling a sadness that wonders what it all became.
A silver ship upon such midas waves.
Floating out to sea.

Down within

Down to the water’s edge.
Beneath the willow and the sadness.
He stopped his world for a while.
No hand to pull him back.
Only invisible fingers pushing him forward.
Reeling in his mind like spinning wheels.
He lay on the cold bank.
Shedding his tears into deeper pools.
Pouring out his misery and loneliness.
Until he drowned the flying fish.
An ice crept across the water.
Licking his bones and sealing his eyes tight.
His heart caught between a beat and a break.
Hurrying this ice-age that would sweep the world away.
Yet he does not dwell unobtainably with the gods.
Or at the end of a book to placed on the shelf.
His small pool of sorrow lies within.
Every time the change of seasons ring.
Each day your body sways and splits..
He aches once more for the shore.

Succumb to hurricanes

This theatre closed late one summer night, pulling the curtains that were a patchwork of stars.
You bowed your last, shuddering out of a promise you couldn’t keep.
As these dreams collapsed.
Pulling me through time and smacking reality in my face.
Lamplights.
Now 2am.
Slinking into sleep and flickering into a new stasis.
Part truth, part fiction.
The wrong side of poetic. Wiping the walls with the blackness that remains.
Cemented in orange courage, dabbing away the corrosives with tiny cotton wool stones.
Erasing the dates that were circled in red.
Sucking on pennies for protein. Letting it all unfold.
Carrying me away.
Monday.
Satin lined sorrow and the disinterest of my thoughts.
Closing the windows of earth once more.
Words that bind.
Falling from altitudes to nothing but blue.
Undercurrents of debris and smashed reasons.
Trapped in cage with the door wide open.
That bird in me is never going to fly to the top of the world.
Collapsed into the fading smile of your yesterday.
Succumbed to those shadows

Painting Frida Kahlo

My bones are smashed, my soul is shaken.
Paint flecks into my blood stream. All reds and blues.
Peal my skin away and display my head as a candy skull, paint a smile that misrepresents.
Confined to my bed I see the world not how it is, or how it should be.
But as a world where the monsters roam, resurging my secure need to stay inside.
Confined and cloistered away.
Painting the windows up, choking off the world.
You could find me there, if you decide to look.
Where monkeys run amok in my head, and I remain devoted to you despite all I’ve seen.
Bathing in the heat of the tropics and the bleach in the bathtub, vomiting out the apples you feed me.
Admiring my own reflection.
Painting Frida Kahlo.

The Dye is cast

You try to love again but you’re miles away.
You throw out words like a tourist lost in the city, all broken English.
I love you.
It sounds so odd to hear.
Like you’re naked and cast ajar, with the window open as the world tumbles in.
….and I slip away.
I’ve lived these words, I’ve breathed that world.
I crashed and burned into that wonder that found me hearing the echo of the sound of I love you.
I got sick with it, lived with it, threw up and fucked it.
And so it remains.
Buried deep within, washing around in my blood.
The light flickers and I catch your smile. Too different for our own good, it cages the bird within me.
A victim or volunteer, I still do not know.
You speak to my soul and play my thoughts like a piano, you move away from others.
Everyone around me tells me the world is flat.
When I tell you it is round; you smile and hold my heart and whisper “it is also surrounded by stars”.
And now I know.
The dye is cast
